Lufthansa customers traveling to/from Singapore are now able to have a layover longer than a day at the German airline’s hub at Munich through a newly launched Stopover Program.

The airline’s new Stopover Program currently covers routes to Singapore and the US, enabling customers on the airline’s flights to/from Munich to have a stopover between one day (24 hours) to a maximum stay of seven days in the German city.

According to Lufthansa, a surcharge maybe applied to the route and customers can book their hotel stay, rental cars, and tourist activities in Munich through integrated partners 24 hours after booking their flight.

Munich is the first hub the airline is launching the program. Lufthansa plans to gradually expand the program to additional regions and destinations, and other Lufthansa Group hubs over the course of the next year.

“With our new stopover program, we are turning a layover in Munich into real added value for our guests,” said Heiko Reitz, Member of the Lufthansa Airlines Board and Hub Manager, Munich “We are excited to give travelers the opportunity to flexibly incorporate one of Europe's most attractive cities and regions into their journey, enhancing their flight with a truly personal travel experience."

Lufthansa currently operates a combined 13 weekly flights to/from Singapore, including daily services to Frankfurt and six-weekly to Munich.
