AirAsia Malaysia (AK) Air Operator Certificate renewed through 2029

AirAsia (AirAsia Malaysia-AK) reported it has renewed its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) for the next three years.

According to AirAsia, the renewal of the AOC follows a regulatory assessment of the airline’s compliance with the requirements governing commercial air transport operations in Malaysia. The renewed AOC is valid until September 30, 2029.

“The renewal of our Air Operator Certificate reflects our continued commitment to not only meeting, but exceeding the regulatory, operational and safety standards required of us as an airline operating in Malaysia,” said AirAsia Malaysia General Manager Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra. “As we move forward, we remain focused on operating safely & efficiently, optimising our fleet and network whilst continuing to provide affordable connectivity for millions of travellers across Malaysia and the region.”

AirAsia reported that AirAsia Malaysia currently operates 1620 weekly flights to 88 destinations including 15 domestic destinations, and 73 international destinations across 22 countries. The airline reports a 61% share of Malaysia’s domestic market by capacity, and 34% of the flights at its hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

The airline concluded its statement saying: “With its renewed AOC, extensive domestic and international network, and continued recognition by travellers globally, AirAsia Malaysia remains focused on strengthening connectivity, supporting Malaysia’s aviation and tourism ecosystem and making air travel more accessible to millions of travellers.”
