Sun Group expands partnership with Changi Airport Group

Vietnamese conglomerate Sun Group is expanding its partnership with the operator of Singapore’s Changi Airport to cover its portfolio of airport projects throughout Vietnam.

The Sun Group and Changi Airports Group (CAI) signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will shift the partnership from a project-level collaboration covering the Phu Quoc International Airport to a long-term strategic framework covering planning, development, and operation of the Sun Group’s aviation portfolio.

“What sets this MOU apart is its scope: rather than being tied to a single project, it establishes a lasting institutional framework through which Sun Group can systematically absorb international expertise in airport planning, governance, and operations progressively building a home-grown capability that meets global benchmarks.”

Sun Group’s aviation portfolio includes the Phu Quoc International Airport, Phan Thiet Civil Airport, and Van Don International Airport. Van Don is Vietnam’s first privately operated international airport. In addition, the group also owns two airlines: Sun PhuQuoc Airways and Sun Air.

As the CAG’s strategic airport investor, management, and consultancy arm, the CAI has advised more than 60 airports in over 20 countries around the world. Among the airports that the CAI has provided its services to include Fukuoka (Japan), Dammam (Saudi Arabia), Rio de Janeiro’s Tom Jobim International Airport (Brazil), and Male-Velana (Maldives).
