Following the announcement that the postponed 2026 FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX was to be rescheduled to take place in Malaysia, Gulf Air announced it plans to introduce direct flights to Kuala Lumpur.

“On this occasion, Gulf Air announced its intention to introduce direct flights to Kuala Lumpur, further strengthening air connectivity between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Malaysia while offering motorsports fans and passengers a seamless gateway to the excitement of the 2026 FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX.”
According to Gulf Air, flight schedule information will be announced soon.
Set to be held at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from October 2 to 4, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain remains the title sponsor of the event.
Kuala Lumpur International Airport currently has direct flight connections to eight cities in the Gulf Coast Countries (GCC): Jeddah, Medinah, Riyadh, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Muscat. Among the airlines operating flights between these cities and Kuala Lumpur include Oman Air, Air Arabia , Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Riyadh Air, Saudia, AirAsia X, and Batik Air Malaysia.
